Special snack add holiday cheer

TANGYUAN is a traditional Chinese rice snack that is usually eaten for the Lantern Festival.

The tangyuan is round and can have a variety of fillings.

The special snack here refers to tangyuan with four tastes and five colors.

The first one is stuffed with minced pork, mushrooms and shepherd's purse. The second one is stuffed with red bean paste, lard and sweet-scented osmanthus. The third one is with red dates, sweet potato and peanut paste while the fourth with sesame, sugar and water melon's seeds.

The wrappers will be made in five colors. The red, yellow, green and white colors are made by soaking the rice ball in the juice of red beans, yellow carrots, green cabbage and white rice. Some of the white balls will be rolled onto the table placed with black sesame, thus to form the fifth color of the dumplings.

When these special dumplings are on table after being boiled, their beautiful colors and different tastes will serve you not only a snack, but also an artist work.

Don't you think so?
