TRAMS may be launched in Jiading and Songjiang districts this year on a trial basis, local traffic authorities said. The current plan shows that there will be 1,000km of tracks for trams, 650km in the suburbs and 350km in downtown. In Jiading the railway will be laid between the Jiading New Town and Metro stations.
