Wintersweet trees in blossom

IT'S in early winter, but chimonanthus praecox, also known as wintersweet, is in full bloom in the park at Waigang Town in Jiading District.
The dark brown branches of the plant are trimmed with yellow blossoms that are small and exquisite with a delightful perfume.
The park at 2700 Moyu Road N., covering more than 67 hectares, is an AAA agricultural leisure tourism site.
The early, middle and late-flowering varieties of the plant are evenly distributed in the park and the flowering period will last from December to February.
Most flowers will bloom around New Year's Day.
Meanwhile, Jiading's greenery authority has sped up landscaping the local streets in Jiading New Town.
It has built green belts along the 31 key roads in the town and completed construction of green space totaling 260,000 square meters.
