Star exhibition

URBAN dwellers would be hard-pressed to go outdoors and see a starry night in the city, so the Shanghai Natural History Museum has brought the nighttime sky indoors in a special exhibition.

Called “Starry Sky Illumination,” it provides visitors with a stellar experience with the sky projector Super Megastar II. It can recreate the positions of more than 22 million stars, extending beyond what the naked eye can see.

The exhibition also includes more than 110 landscape and celestial photos taken by top photographers, and a seven-minute video showing how stars move throughout the night with the Earth’s rotation.

The exhibition will run through November 26. Admission is free.
