Trendy Sports Festival keeps Shanghai buzzing
2025 Trendy Sports Festival has kept Shanghai buzzing since October 4, spanning seven consecutive weekends through November 16. Across major commercial hubs, residents have enjoyed a dynamic mix of high-energy competitions, music, lifestyle experiences and interactive events.
Daning Park hosted the 2025 Asian University 3x3 Basketball Championship and Shanghai University 3x3 League opener from October 24–26. Over 200 athletes from 10 countries and regions competed in the three-day tournament with 28 university teams.
Huaqiao University captured the men’s title, with Ye Runfeng named MVP, while Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Guangdong University of Technology took second and third. In the women’s division, Peking University won the championship, with Wang Jiahui earning MVP honors, followed by Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Tsinghua University.
Rising talent Lu Zhuocheng from Guangdong, Park Jabez from Dankook University, and Saderinamin Parsa from Shahid Beheshti University were recognized as “Red Wings Asian Future Stars.” This year’s edition officially joined FIBA’s global ranking system, marking Asia’s first intercontinental university 3x3 event, offering student athletes a pathway through international rankings.
From October 28 to 30, Suzhou Creek hosted a tug-of-war challenge with over 500 participants, featuring a weight-loss incentive system that tracks fitness progress through January 2026. The Suhe Market offered cultural crafts, wellness experiences and sustainable lifestyle stalls.
Dogs of all sizes joined their owners for a pet sports carnival at Shanghai Suhewan MixC World. Frisbee shows, jump challenges and pet-owner relays drew cheers from the crowd, adding a playful twist to the festival.
The “Hot Luck: Trendy Sports Brand Market” at Anyi Road featured skateboarding, fitness classes and a circular fashion market on November 8–9.
