Easier access for passport applicants
MINHANG residents who apply for passports at the district's Entry and Exit Registration Center on Shenbei Road can now pick them up at the same venue.
The center expanded its services earlier this year to both Chinese and foreigners, making it easier to apply for and collect documents.
In the past, residents in Minhang who applied for passports were required to pick them up at centers outside the district.
The Minhang center is now processing about 350 passports a month.
The Minhang office also added a new visa service aimed at Taiwanese and foreigners, which has been welcomed by companies in the district employing off-shore professionals.
The number of service windows at the center has been increased from two to six during peak hours to reduce waiting times.
