A JOB fair for 2009 university graduates in the Minhang Sports Park attracted more than 35,000 students on a rainy day.

A total of 319 employers at the fair offered more than 5,800 positions, none of them needing experience.

Most offered salaries contract of about 2,000 yuan (US$294.1), while some were paying up to 5,000 yuan. A small number of companies offered an annual salary of 100,000 yuan.

"I've attended some job fairs but graduates with no work experience is usually a no-no for employers," says Sun Yi, a senior from the Shanghai Engineering Institute. "This job fair is tailor-made for us."

Sun says he had sent four copies of his resumes and one company had invited him to attend an interview.
