Ice creams and ices help lick the incessant heat

THE passion for an iced dessert, definitely a best seller in summer, is as hot as the sweaty weather. They help provide relief from the incessant dog-day heat, whether in the form of an ice cream or a bowl of water-ice.

Traditional iced desserts have gradually lost their appeal among modern young people who are always hunting for something new and exciting. However, there are several stores with special characteristics which meet the demand and provide everyone with cool and delicious options.

Baskin Robbins

The store is eye-catching, especially to girls, with its cute internal decoration in blue and pink.

There are five branches of the ice cream store in Shanghai, and this one at Wuzhong Road is the only outlet in Minhang District. There are 31 different flavors of ice cream in the store, providing a special taste for every day of the month. You can ask for a free taste of each flavor and get a waffle cone for 3 yuan (44 US cents). The ice cream is savory and tender but lemon water is also available if you feel the taste is too heavy.

You might not be familiar with many of the flavors that are quite Americanized if you seldom have ice cream, so vanilla, chocolate and green tea would be good choices for ice cream beginners.

Chocolate cakes with original, banana and rum cherry flavors are offered at Awfully Chocolate. The store attaches great importance to authentic flavors and hand-made style.

"Dark" ice cream is highly recommended, as it is always popular, no matter what season.

The bittersweet taste, savory and melting sensation it generates are very refreshing for summer. Price is 25 yuan for one ice cream ball.

Dong Qu Xiao Guan

The store sells Taiwan cuisine and snacks. Milkshakes, which are especially popular, have six flavors and cost between 22 yuan and 25 yuan.
