Two Minhang subdistricts won accolades for their health and wellness programs at the 2025 Shanghai Municipal Outstanding Health Subdistricts and Town Development Case Selection. Gumei Road Subdistrict’s “Medical-Educational Alliance: Establishing a Dual-Track Health Program for Minors to Safeguard the Development of Children with Special Needs” was one of the city’s top 10 exemplary instances. Zhuanqiao Town’s “Jujing Classroom Health Project” was a top municipal case. The health education program in Gumei Road Subdistrict emphasizes health management for children. In the first phase, 30 percent of the 566 participating children improved their BMI over six months, and 96 percent of their parents acquired health knowledge. Ten traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in Zhuanqiao Town will provide tiered programs for nursery, primary and secondary schools. The classes cover seasonal wellness, acupoint therapy and baduanjin, a traditional Chinese wellness exercise.
