Minhang officials vow more efforts to push high-quality development

Minhang‘s annual “Two Sessions,” meetings of the district’s people’s congress and political consultative conference, have concluded.
The year 2025 marks the final year of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan and a preparatory year for the next five-year planning cycle.
District officials pledged further efforts to make proactive contributions to advance high-quality development in the region to build the district into an innovative, open, ecologically and culturally rich, livable, and secure modern urban center and primary base for new productive forces.
Minhang will also continue to draw on public opinion and pool public wisdom to advance the practice of whole-process people’s democracy.
The district’s lawmakers heard reports on the progress of its latest initiatives to deliver tangible benefits for the people, and conducted research on issues such as mental health and cultural heritage preservation to fully address public concerns.
They also heard and deliberated on reports concerning urban and rural planning and environmental protection, and conducted research on topics such as urban renewal, urban safety, integrated transport systems, waste-free city development, and park city construction.
They have been drawing on public opinion and pooling public wisdom to advance the practice of whole-process people’s democracy, with a series of new advancements and achievements made in the past year.
Minhang Party Secretary Lu Fangzhou said the district will more consciously implement the people-centered urban development philosophy, continuously enriching and advancing its practice of whole-process people’s democracy. At the same time, it will keep on prioritizing people’s livelihoods and enhance the public’s sense of fulfilment, happiness and security.
Minhang also plans to stay focused on high-quality economic development, and shall contribute wisdom and efforts to help consolidate and strengthen the upward momentum of economic recovery.
Meanwhile, the district’s political advisors in the district also pledged to work in concert and strive for unity and harmony among different sections of society.
They will continue to refine mechanisms that foster in-depth political consultation and interaction to serve the overall goal of social and economic development and ensure strategic policies to drive high-quality development and safeguard the livelihood of the elderly and the young.
