Overseas recruitment
MINHANG human resource authorities recently visited the United States to recruit overseas Chinese students for professional jobs in the district.
More than 50 jobs, spanning areas such as digital technology, finance, biomedicine and new energy research exploration, were presented to students in Seattle and San Francisco.
Interested students were told of opportunities to work in Minhang for international corporations such as Intel, officials said.
In addition to job fairs, forums were held in the two cities to acquaint students with the economy and living conditions in Minhang.
While there, officials contracted with recruitment agencies to continue the search for needed talent.
The Minhang government has pledged to invest 100 million yuan (US$15.7 million) to support 135 high-end professionals to come and work in the district.
