Owners regain stolen property
MINHANG police said they have recovered stolen items valued at 120,000 yuan (US$19,018) and returned them to their owners this month.
The items included 10 projectors and 83 boxes of premium liquor, the police said.
This is the seventh time this year that the police have made public the return of stolen items. Since February, Minhang police has been strengthening their crackdown on burglars, swindlers and pickpockets in the district. The number of cases closed rose by about 40 percent from the same period a year ago.
The pursuit goes on. Police said they have solved 188 cases in the last three months involving the theft of goods and cash valued at more than 3.5 million yuan.
Careful tracking of people who report stolen property has enabled police to return whatever they recover to the rightful owners.
