THE Shinan branch of the Shanghai Electric Power Co has upgraded the low voltage distribution networks in several older residential communities, benefiting about 900 households. The Donglan and Gumei residential complexes and Jixi Village were included.
Households in communities built in the 1980s have often suffered from power blackouts, particularly during peak consumption periods in summer and winter. The situation is expected to improve significantly after the upgrade.
About 10,000 households in Minhang are expected to benefit when the power grid upgrade is completed in June.
