Shenlong Bus factory up and running

THE new factory for the Shanghai Shenlong Bus Co Ltd has opened and is fully operational in Minhang's Xinzhuang Industrial Park. The Shenlong New Energy Research and Development Center has also been established.
The 200,000-square-meter factory costing 320 million yuan (US$47.1 million) has six production lines involved in chassis manufacturing, assembling, body welding, installation and final testing.
The annual output of the new project will eventually be 11,000 units.
The comprehensive compound includes research and development, the production of complete buses and parts, sales, service and education.
This year, the company is expecting to sell 4,500 buses, reaching a sales volume worth 1.5 billion yuan.
Currently, its Pudong factory can produce about 3,000 medium and large buses a year.
Established in 2004, Shenlong is a leading bus manufacturer in China with a registered capital of 46 million yuan.
In 2005, its first factory was established in the Shanghai Pudong Industrial Zone.
