Sports fitness centers aid healthy life

IT'S now considered healthy to forget about the pressures of work and study to relax and sweat it all out on a sports court.
Recently Minhang Stadium on 288 Xinzhen Road launched several professional fitness centers inside the cultural recreation square. Swimming pools, billiards and bowling have attracted a large group of sports lovers.
Bowling
Bowling is back in fashion after its first fervor during the 1990s. Now the sport provides a nostalgic activity. The China-Britain co-invested Shanghai Longmarch Cosmopolitan Bowling Center is worth checking out. The equipment is of international standards, including fluorescent lanes, guard bars, LCD screens and sofa seats.
The bowling center, decorated in a simple and refreshing style, is among the best in the city. It is also featured as the first non-smoking bowling center in China.
Price: 10 to 23 yuan per game (Monday to Friday); 12 to 28 yuan per game (on weekends and holidays)
Shoe rent: 3 yuan per pair
The center introduced membership cards that offer different types of discount. Students can get a concession during regulated hours. The lowest price is 6 yuan per game.

Guanjun Swimming club launched a sales promotion event in the fall and winter.
Corresponding with the government's call that "everyone should learn swimming," the club introduced special offer training programs.
The beginners' and advanced learners' programs are both available during October to May. Advanced learners are instructed by coaches in semi-professional planned training.
Price: 300 yuan per month; A seasonal card or half-year card earns 50 yuan or 100 yuan discount every month.

Billiards
A game in the limited space of a billiards table always offers pleasant and exciting experiences. The newly opened Shanghai Shendian Billiard Club on the first floor of the sports cultural recreation square boasts large space and runs 24 hours. The club has 10 snooker tables and over 20 American pocket billiard tables.
Price: 35 yuan for snooker and 30 yuan for American pocket billiards per hour (8am till midday);
45 yuan for snooker and 40 yuan for American pocket billiards per hour during the rest period;
Membership cards are of 500, 1,000 and 3,000-yuan value and earn discounts of 10 to 30 percent.
The club has a private lounge that provides free beverages and a 24-hour board game room for 25 yuan per hour.

Besides the gym, it also provides courses in acrobatics, street dance, Latin, belly dance, taekwondo, yoga and spinning.
