Bring home a toy and make your child's day
BABY service centers in Putuo District offer parents the opportunity to rent toys for their children.
The district invested 100,000 yuan (US$16,000) to purchase toys for nine such centers in communities and lanes last year. Since then the model has been introduced across the district.
The centers offer more than 900 rental toys, mainly puzzles that are organized according to suitable age groups. The toys are for newborns to three year olds. The centers also provide staff to provide instructions on how to use different toys.
The rental service requires a 50-yuan deposit and has attracted more than 30 families at the center in Changshou Community. The centers act like toy libraries. Each child can borrow two toys for up to one month. The centers sanitize all toys when they are returned.
