Hongqiao Dazhong Heliport gives visitors a travel option
Hongqiao Dazhong Heliport in Qingpu District’s Huaxin Town has introduced a new high-efficiency travel alternative for customers in Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
The helicopter, carrying two crew members and two passengers, soared into the sky and took off on its maiden flight from Hongqiao Dazhong Driving School to Suzhou in Jiangsu.
The chopper arrived at its destination in 12 minutes, significantly reducing road travel time.
“Seeing the Yangtze River Delta from a different perspective, we arrived in Suzhou very swiftly,” a passenger on the inaugural flight exclaimed, “It’s incredibly convenient!”
The launch also pressed the “accelerator button” for Huaxin’s low-altitude economy development.
“The site was chosen in Huaxin because of its unique geographical advantages,” said Wu Biying, Dazhong Transportation’s low-altitude economy project manager.
The straight-line distance from Hongqiao Dazhong Heliport to Terminal 2 of Hongqiao International Airport is only 9 kilometers, with a 15-minute drive. Relying on Dazhong Transportation’s well-established ground transportation network, the heliport also enables seamless “helicopter and ground transportation” interconnection.
After landing, passengers can directly take Dazhong’s business shuttle service to transfer to flights, enjoying a high-quality and integrated travel experience throughout the journey, thus realizing an efficient commuting closed loop of air-ground linkage.
In addition to business travel, the low-altitude route is also planned to cover emergency rescue and aerial sightseeing. It is currently in the test flight phase, and the pricing will be reasonably set later based on the trial operation results and market demand.
