Second phase of Bailian plaza to open in September

The second phase of the Qingpu Bailian Outlets Plaza is scheduled to open in September 2026, with construction in full swing.

Amid the hum of machinery, a bustling scene unfolded. The standalone buildings in the commercial area were arranged in a scattered layout, with the facade construction taking initial shape and workers busily installing curtain wall keels in early December.

Not far away, on the Xintongbotang River, the steel girder of the No. 2 Vehicle Bridge had been successfully closed, and the hoisting work of the No. 1 Pedestrian Bridge was progressing in an orderly manner, which will seamlessly connect Phase I and Phase II in the future.

As a renowned micro-vacation consumption landmark in the Yangtze River Delta region and a favorite shopping destination among locals, Qingpu Bailian Outlets Plaza, which has been in operation for nearly 20 years, has become a regional commercial icon.

Since breaking ground on January 2, 2025, the Phase II project has been advancing at an accelerated pace. Covering a total construction area of approximately 95,400 square meters, the project will add 100 new retail stores, complementing and interacting with some 600 existing brands in Phase I, jointly forming a fully functional and experiential commercial complex with a total area of 200,000 square meters upon completion.

“At present, the exterior facade of the seven-story above-ground parking building has been fully finished. It will add 1,600 dedicated parking spaces, which, combined with the existing spots in Phase I, will effectively ease parking pressure during holidays,” said Wang Yang, project manager of Qingpu Bailian Outlets Plaza Phase II.

“After the Spring Festival, we will focus on completing the curtain wall finishing work and landscape projects, ensuring their overall completion acceptance by June 30, 2026, and the trial operation by the end of September.”
