A town that will benefit from new technologies
JIUTING Town is planning to become a technology center under the blueprint for the G60 Shanghai Songjiang Science and Tech Corridor that runs along the G60 Highway from Shanghai to Hangzhou.
The center covers an area of almost 27 square kilometers, including parts that lie in Sijing, Dongjing and Xinqiao towns.
The technology center will be set in pleasant surroundings of greenbelts, forests, canals and wetlands. So far, a 67,000-square-meter park has been completed and another park along Zhongxin Road is under construction.
One of the center’s focuses will be healthcare technology, including projects such as Fudan University Medical Valley and China Nuclear Engineering & Construction.
Located in northeastern Songjiang, Jiuting was developed relatively early and has few land resources left. Beginning last year, the town has been working to dismantle illegal structures and relocate residents.
More than 600 households in Jiuting will be moved from old dilapidated housing to new flats near public transit hubs.
