The Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Association and the Shanghai 3D Printing Industry Alliance have opened operations in the Caohejing High-Tech Park in Songjiang, joining more than 20 printing-related companies already there.
The district plans to build a 3D printing industrial center there, hoping to attract 50 companies. That would make the district a center in Shanghai鈥檚 intelligent manufacturing industry.
With more than 100 members, Shanghai Additive Manufacturing Association was the first registered industrial organization in its sector.
Members plan to build a platform to promote the innovation in 3D printing technology and establish industry standards.
3D printing has wide applications for product research and development.
The new technology plays an important role in aerospace engineering, automobile and medical equipment manufacturing and popular consumer goods.
Standout companies include Shanghai Union Technology Co, which is the leading 3D printing equipment manufacturer; Sunshine Laser Devices Co; and Graphic Design Information Co, which provides multi-platform 3D content services on the Internet.
3D printing companies in Songjiang specialize in fields such as advanced materials research and development, equipment manufacturing, virtual reality, platform operation and industrial application, forming an integrated industrial chain.
