The pride of owning Party commemorative coins
People were seen waiting in line to exchange commemorative coins for the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China in front of the Songjiang subbranch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China on the morning of September 15.
"I arrived here at 6:30 in the morning," said Pan Jushi, a Tongbo Community resident .
Pan, a collector of commemorative coins, was also a retired Party member.
As soon as the bank opened at 8:30am, he entered after having his temperature taken by the bank staff.
He then walked to the exchange window and exchanged the commemorative coin.
"I joined the Party in 1981 and it’s been 40 years since I became a Communist Party member,” Pan said. “I am very happy to get the commemorative coin today. It reminds me of the past. It was the Party that trained me to be a senior engineer."
The 100th anniversary commemorative coin he received is made of a dual-color copper alloy and has a 10 yuan denomination. A total of 10.78 million commemorative coins of this type were allocated in Shanghai.
