DESPITE the pretty pastels, ornamental lace, floral prints and metallic shine, basic black and white are still the runways' most striking combinations for spring and summer.
Black-and-white is one of the few recurring trends in the changeable fashion world. From suits to gowns to pretty little cocktail dresses, black-and-white is chic on and off the runways, creating a multitude of new fun looks for yin and yang.
Giorgio Armani delivers a black and white dream for his second line Emporio Armani's spring/summer collection. The looks are neat and refined but also contemporary and edgy. Well-tailored suits, glittery dresses and boater hats are highlights. Black or white trim traces the structure of each piece nicely.
Though Chanel's theme is an undersea fantasy with pretty, feminine colors, black-and-white is a staple. Karl Lagerfeld gives a fresh look to the timeless white dress punctuated with black threads and creates a black dress with a white collar.
Ann Demeulemeester combines a wide range of fabrics and textures in these tones to create one-of-a-kind looks.
