Cherry blossom festival in full swing
MORE than 12,000 cherry trees — in 82 species — start blooming this week at the Gucun Park for the Cherry Blossom Festival which will be running through April 15.
Apart from cherry blossoms, the park has also grown over 10,000 square meters of tulips and 200,000 square meters of orchids, cole flowers and other varieties.
To cope with the large number of visitors, 10 shuttle buses are available between the park and the nearest stations of Metro Lines 1, 3 and 7. According to the authorities, 2,000 extra parking spaces have been allocated this year, so that a total of 5,400 cars can be parked at one time.
