Children’s carnival features performing art

Performing art events, both indoors and outdoors, will be featured during next week’s Zebra Camp Children’s Carnival at Nine Trees Future Art Center between October 4-6.

The carnival provides a variety of children’s dramas, most of which are based on well-known fairy tales, including “The Little Match Girl,” “Three Little Pigs” and “The Frog Prince.” Puppet shows and performances derived from picture books, from both home and abroad, will also be staged.

Families with kids can participate in a variety of interactive activities at the open-air market in the main square as well as music parties and art salons. They can learn the charm of traditional Chinese costumes, instruments, handicrafts and folk arts through a lot of light-hearted programs.

Since its opening last year, the Nine Trees Future Art Center has staged many outstanding shows. The center’s aim is to support art culture, education and providing youth art opportunities in the area.

Theater artists, like Wang Peiyu, have been invited to design and offer programs for children, while student volunteers from local colleges have been recruited to help in the center’s incubation and create new original stage productions.

The center’s art education platform, which started off early this year, covers music, theater and dance, to foster children’s artistic taste and abilities.
