Dragon TV heats up Spring Festival screen
Dragon TV’s Spring Festival Gala will feature several novelty programs, lavish stage effects and film and TV celebrities from all over the country.
The popular TV station goes live at 7:30pm on January 25 on Chinese New Year’s Day and promises to deliver a festival of televisual entertainment.
The cast of the 2001 popular TV series “Romance in the Rain,” featuring Zhao Wei, Ruby Lin, Leo Ku and Alec Su, celebrates a reunion at the gala after 20 years. They will share with audience many unknown stories about their life on the set and their new plans for the future. Classic songs and scenes of the series will also be performed.
Hong Kong actress Angie Chiu, known for her role in the 1980 series “Shanghai Bund,” will attend the gala with her son. They will interpret a new ending to the series on stage.
Renowned singer and performer Li Yugang will give an innovative performance that blends traditional Chinese opera and modern pop music.
Taobao livestreamer and male beauty blogger Li Jiaqi will present a comic sketch at the gala. It is the first time he has made an attempt to perform a sketch.
Director Zhao Lei believes the gala will convey everyone’s aspiration to dream and live a good life in the new year. Additionally, the gala will also showcase the unique flavor of the city and its tolerance to different cultures.
