Since the Consulate General of Ecuador has recently been established in Shanghai, it is with great honor to address both Chinese residents and foreign communities in the city with the intention of extending a cordial greeting from the government and the people of Ecuador.
The traditional, friendly relations between Ecuador and the People's Republic of China have been strengthened over the last few years, especially during my presidential order. This is demonstrated by bilateral agreements reached in diverse areas, especially in economic and commercial exchanges, technological cooperation, and by the interest that business opportunities have generated for both countries, as well as by the exchange of high-level visits. To this, it should be added the promotion of Ecuador as a tourist destination for Chinese people.
It is for these reasons that it is indispensable to strengthen the presence of Ecuador in the People's Republic of China with a pragmatic vision for the future, and especially in Shanghai, one of the most beautiful cities in the world and with major dynamism for international trade. The opening of the Consular Office constituted, for a long time, a pressing need that has now finally been fulfilled.
The Government of Ecuador congratulates itself for this new and important achievement in the relations between the two countries and vows that the opening of this Consulate General will reinforce and contribute, to a great extent, to the excellent, reciprocal existing ties.
Center of the World
Situated right on the line that divides the southern and northern hemispheres of the Earth, Ecuador is a unique and mystical country that appeals to travelers from all over the world. Its privileged location makes Ecuador a rich country not only for its beautiful scenery but also for its people, variety of foods and culture.
Wildlife Wonders
Ecuador's diverse landscapes provide habitat for a wide array of flora and fauna where you can discover the globe's greatest biodiversity, which is the result of a wide variety of habitats created by the Andean mountain range and its location along the equator.
Economic Dynamism
Ecuador is a dynamic country that does most of its commercial activity through four of its major ports: Guayaquil, Manta, Esmeraldas and Puerto Bolivar. The Port of Manta is now being positioned as a strategic multimodal port for the region.
