Everything here is up for crabs

CRUSTASIA Asian Crab & Seafood House is a delight for seafood lovers, and cuisines range from Thai and Vietnamese to Japanese and Korean, each with the spices and sauces of their countries.

It is located on Hengshan Road beside Hengshan Cinema, a peaceful area of old villas and phoenix trees near Xujiahui Park.

Largely a dichromatic affair of red and white, the restaurant is both simple and modern, with standing cubist-style pincers and murals of crabs and other crustaceans. It has wooden floors, bright French windows and mirrors to highlight the interior.

It serves imported Dungeness crab with 10 distinct sauces. It provides all the implements necessary to divide and conquer this tricky crustacean.

There are plenty of different crab species, as well as lobster, shrimp and many fish. Grilled shrimp is served in the Crustacia House Salad with lettuce and tuna slices. The Baked Cheesy Lobster topped with béchamel sauce is recommended.

Squid comes in all shapes and forms, from the Thai-style calamari skewers to Singaporean crispy baby squid to Korean chili squid, with plenty of kimchi.

Beer, soft drinks, ice teas, fruit juice shakes and juice are available.
