Exhibition showcases our amazing planet
The 2nd International Children鈥檚 Art and Science Exhibition is underway at the Shanghai Art Collection Museum through November 10.
Under the theme 鈥淗ey! My amazing planet!,鈥 the exhibition features nearly 200 works fusing art and science created by children from 10 countries including China, Turkey, Japan, France and Russia.
The works vary from pictures, hand-made installations, pottery to 鈥淓bru鈥 painting. Particularly popular in Turkey and Central Asia, Ebru paintings are produced using dyes, a water-based solution, and a set of unique tools.
The exhibition is divided into four sections: 鈥淔antastic Sky,鈥 鈥淰ast Land,鈥 鈥淏oundless Ocean鈥 and 鈥淪tar Imagination.鈥
Questions, such as why the sky is blue, how does thunder form and where can we meet rainbows 鈥 are answered in the section 鈥淔antastic Sky.鈥
Children鈥檚 fascination with the sky is seen in the exhibits of a seven-hued pinwheel, a self-made airplane model and a small hot air balloon.
Other exhibits include sound activated lighting and a solar-powered Chinese Dragon model. There will also be indoor and outdoor events.
Date: Through November 10 (closed on Mondays), 9am-4pm
Venue: Shanghai Art Collection Museum
Address: 1731 Yan鈥檃n Rd W. (inside Tianshan Park)
