THOUGH there are tons of "secrets" to a long and healthy live, the basic principles are the same -- and many are about good attitude and peace of mind. Here are a few tips.
Don't quarrel or fight. Conflict and stress are actually toxic and big episodes can undermine the immune system for around 24 hours.
Maintain good relations with family, friends and colleagues.
Get quality sleep as well as rest. Seven to nine hours of sleep a day is the best. Those who sleep less than six hours a day have a 70 percent higher risk of premature death than those who get enough sleep.
Try to love your job, it's a big part of life. Lack of job satisfaction is stressful and can contribute to headaches, cold, indigestion, bronchitis and others ailments.
Try to find spiritual support.
Basics: regular age-appropriate exercise, a balanced diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and oils like olive and some other plant oils. Less meat and animal fat.
