M1NT's Black Swan black-tie party to be Shanghai's black swan event

THE Black Swan Party will be the most luxurious, mysterious and fashionable party Shanghai has seen in decades. Its seduction and wonders will be unveiled on Friday at M1NT Shanghai to an exclusive guest list of celebrities, fashionistas and socialites. This glamorous party of the decade will be a black-tie only affair.

The 1960s was the golden age of New York society. During that decade, Truman Capote hosted the legendary Black and White Party, a spark that ignited the glamor of American society. Unparalleled in elegance and extravagance, it set a standard that is set to be matched for the first time.

On July 13, M1NT will be transformed into a glamorous 1960s' style setting. A black and white wonderland featuring the elegance of the 1960s with live ballet dance, body-painted performances, sky dancers, also together De Siena and La Perla will present the most expected lingerie show to light up this summer.

Alistair Paton, M1NT founder and group CEO, and Mimi Tung, managing director of b. Swan Communication, tell the story behind the Black Swan Party.

"Mimi and I have been talking about co-hosting the best party Shanghai has ever seen since we first met, close to a decade ago. And now, the date has finally been set. Together we've both either attended, run or hosted the best parties in the world. So the pressure is on for us to deliver. To that end, I hope we achieve our aim and all our guests tip their hat to our efforts," Paton says.

"Mimi is the best PR in Shanghai and widely known as 'the party secret,' but most importantly, we always have fun together. To top everything off, this will also be my Shanghai bachelor party and my business partner's 50th birthday. Hence the La Perla lingerie show."

"I have been to hundreds of top events in Shanghai and the one that impressed me the most was M1NT's opening party. It was vibrant, energetic, sexy, beautiful and fun: the party that everyone desperately wanted to be at. The dress code was 'rock star,' and I remember really feeling like a rock star. M1NT has always been my favorite club, and now we are creating this glamorous Black Swan Party at M1NT for 5,000 fabulous people, to say thank you to Shanghai," says Tung.

The Black Swan Party will begin with a gala dinner consisting of a four-course set menu paired with fine wines and the top vintage Champagne, Nicolas Feuillatte Palm D'Or 1999. This extravagant and luxurious Champagne dinner will begin at 7:30pm and is only for 140 exclusively invited VIP guests. Top gourmet dishes specifically created by M1NT's multi award-winning British chef Grant Brunsden will ensure this sensational dinner is not just delicious but eye-catching with exotic colors and intoxicating aromas. From 9pm 500 VIP guests will be invited to witness live performances featuring Black Swan dancers while enjoying a Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne reception. These performances will be accompanied with classical electronic music performed by an internationally renowned DJ.

With the rhythm of electronic music jamming with live classical musicians playing violins and cellos, this will be a night to remember. From 10:30pm, the Black Swan Party opens to the 5,000 pre-invited guests. The After Party will begin with a unique and captivating modern ballet performance. The professional ballerinas will be stunning with dramatic eye make-up and costumes.

As a final showcase, guests will be treated to the stunning show brought by Italian luxury brands De Siena and La Perla with international models sporting luxurious and seductive black and white lingerie, heating the passion of the night. Champagne will flow and diamonds shimmer. Ladies and gentlemen will dance and mingle in this exclusive high-end party. Guests will experience the luxury of a royal ball from the last century, but with the energetic music at the top nightclub on Shanghai's Bund.
