Music festival goes green
The 2020 DaNing Music Festival kicks off today at Life Hub@Daning Plaza in Jing’an District.
With the theme of “Go Green, Keep Energetic,” this year’s festival features an innovative and environment-friendly opening show, which sees the Shanghai-based U Bang Percussion Group using kitchen tools and recycled wooden sticks to perform a song during their set.
The artists are promoting the idea that urban garbage can be decreased if citizens use their imagination and make full use of household items.
Later in the evening, fitness brand SuperMonkey will present a body combat show at the plaza’s central square.
On October 31, a Halloween-themed music party will be organized for the plaza’s young visitors. They can learn to compose music with the help of high-tech pianos and enjoy performances by the Little Star Art Troupe.
On November 1, Shanghai’s South Korean dance followers will gather at the plaza’s central square for the inaugural K-Stage dance competition final. On the same day, independent drama society La Strada will stage a performance and invite visitors to join them in some improvisational acting.
Other activities include a ukulele workshop on October 25 for children aged between 3 and 8. Those interested can follow the plaza’s official WeChat account of “LifeHub_DANING” for more information and registration.
