Party scene revs up for Formula One

THE city gears up for another major sporting weekend with the Shanghai stop of the 2011 Formula One Grand Prix. And the city gets ready to party.

To welcome the actors of the F1 world and celebrate the start of the madness, Bar Rouge will launch festivities tonight with a "REV UP" party for those who want to roar into the weekend at full throttle.

At the end of the F1 weekend, once the racing is over, Horizon on the Bund will hold "Beyond the Line" for a night of sophisticated indulgence and premium partying on Sunday.

At tonight's welcome party, a special draw will be held in partnership with Jusstickets.com, giving gifts that include two sets of F1 tickets, three sets of F1-branded headphones and 10 exclusive F1 scarves.

DJ Maxwell flying in from Beijing will warm up the crowd with his eclectic mix of funky deep house, followed by Bar Rouge's guest resident DJ El'se.

To celebrate all things that go very fast and make a lot of noise, the F1 industry will get a buy-one-get-one free deal on all Binboa cocktails, which will be officially launched in China soon.

The Sunday party at Horizon, which has one of the best options for second-wave Bund venues, will be an occasion to discover the new venue and rub shoulders with some of Shanghai's finest figures of the F1 world.

Champagne is always associated with sporting celebrations and premium partying and bubbly is the official drink for the drivers and teams celebrating on the racecourse. So it's naturally the fuel of this high-octane event.
