Shanghai Zoo offers free tour guide this summer
Shanghai Zoo in Changning District is offering a variety of free tour guides and science popularization activities this summer.
The activities cover areas where popular animals live, such as the giant Chinese salamander, chimpanzee, Bengal tiger, giant panda, alpaca, Asian elephant and kangaroo.
Visitors can follow zookeepers, watch how they work and learn about the daily lifestyle habits of the animals.
Two tour guided routes have been launched by the zoo, taking visitors to areas where species native to Shanghai and east China live at the zoo. These include otter, river deer, muntjac deer, raccoon dog and badger.
Unfortunately, the daily “penguin walk,” allowing visitors to get close to the creatures as they take a stroll outdoors, has been suspended through September due to the rising seasonal temperature.
