Shenyang man keeps traditional Xibe bow making alive
Born into a family of bow makers in Shenyang, capital of northeast China鈥檚 Liaoning Province, E Jianye began learning to make traditional bows of the Xibe ethnic group from his grandfather at the age of 15. It usually takes E at least one year to make a decent Xibe bow. He strictly follows traditional methods to make a bow, which involves many procedures and techniques. In addition to making bows, the 45-year-old founded a bow club and actively participates in archery competitions, trying to extend the influence of the bow-making technique and pass on this skill.
