Show celebrates best of children鈥檚 artwork
The 5th International Children鈥檚 Creative Art Exhibition is currently underway at the Shanghai Art Collection Museum through August 22.
Hosted by the Shanghai Children鈥檚 Foundation and the Shanghai Education Development Foundation, the exhibition features paintings, calligraphy works, installations, videos and photographs created by children from around the world.
According to the organizers, the showcased works were chosen from 500 candidates from nearly 20 countries, including China, Japan, South Korea, France and the Czech Republic.
This year鈥檚 event features a novel coronavirus theme, and many of the works represent children鈥檚 confidence in combating the virus.
One highlight is a Lego statue that resembles a makeshift hospital, complete with doctors and patients on hospital beds.
Another work references 鈥淕irl with a Pearl Earring鈥 painted by Johannes Vermeer in 1655. This time, the well-known girl is wearing a surgical mask.
At the end of the exhibition, a charity auction will be held. All raised funds will be donated to the Shanghai Children鈥檚 Foundation and the Shanghai Education Development Foundation.
