Student works hard to help family beat poverty, pass exam
LI Yanyun, a graduating student of the No. 1 High School of Jingle County, lives in a poor family in the remote mountainous areas of Shanxi Province. But due to alleviation measures, Li’s family was lifted out of poverty at the end of last year.
As a promising student, she has been studying hard. During this year’s prolonged winter vacation, Li didn’t hang loose. She carried out a tight schedule to prepare for the summer’s national college entrance examination, while herding sheep, feeding chickens and helping her parents cook every day.
As the coronavirus outbreak subdued, students in the final year of high school in Shanxi resumed class on Wednesday. The No. 1 High School of Jingle County has taken a series of measures, including staggered canteen dining hours, limiting the number of students at dormitory and classrooms, and arranging special school buses, so as to ensure students’ health, safety and a smooth resumption of school.
