TCM doctors to share experience on TV
DOCTORS of Traditional Chinese medicine will share their expertise and experience of traditional medical and healing system in a TV program — “36.7鈩.”
Known as the “culture inheritors” of TCM, the veteran practitioners will talk about distinctive concepts and methods of TCM, which has a history of more than 2,000 years.
Ancient TCM books and healthcare practices will be demonstrated, and historical TCM cases and stories of famous TCM masters will be highlighted during the program.
Most of them are China’s top-notch physicians, including Zhu Nansun, Liu Jiaxiang and Yan Shiyun.
All of them will reveal the expertise of their school, including natural treatments such as acupuncture, herbal remedies, dietary advice, stress or emotional support, exercise including tai chi and qi gong, and treatments such as cupping and moxibustion.
Dr Yan will also carry a valuable inkstone to the program. The inkstone belonged to his father Yan Cangshan, who made remarkable achievements in the prevention and control of epidemics in Shanghai in the 1920s.
Lu Jingen will display a series of handmade medical tools which were invented and developed by generations of TCM physicians.
Dr Liu has over 70 years of experience as a physician.
“Traditional Chinese medicine is an integral part of Chinese culture,” says Liu. “It is a time-honored system of dialectical treatments.”
Both celebrities and ordinary people who have benefited from TCM will be invited to talk about their own experience.
The program will be aired on Shanghai City TV at 8:30pm on Friday evenings.
