Taking ruff with smooth exhibits at Asia Pet Fair

LEARN, play and shop at China’s biggest pet fair this weekend.
The Asia Pet Fair 2019 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in the Pudong New Area brings thousands of pet lovers together for two days in this education, shopping and entertainment extravaganza.
From the perfect leash and collar set for your retriever, to a nice sweater to keep your beagle warm in winter, irresistible cat nip for your Tabby, healthy, protein-rich pet food, specially designed beds for small dogs and cats to snooze on, you can find them all for your furry family member at the fair.
The annual trade event and celebration of all things pet-related has been upgraded, with more than 1,600 product manufacturers and service providers and 20,000 brands from around the world.
The area has been increased to 185,000 square meters over 14 exhibition halls to handle extra numbers.
At Hall E5, doggies can dive and swim at a makeshift pool.
All the dogs are required to apply in advance on the official WeChat account (亚洲宠物博览会) of the fair’s organizing committee and receive a health check before leaping in the water.
Professional lifeguards are in place and a self-drying service is offered. Dog owners are not allowed into the pool.
More than 400 purebred dogs and cats will shine at the pageant competitions. The cat final will kick off on Sunday with the title “Best of Best” on offer.
Apet fashion show with new autumn and winter collection will highlight the new trends of 2020, while a dog sports meet that is open to dogs of any breed provides a good bonding time for pets and owners.
Children can learn to be responsible and compassionate during the on-site interactive course of “Little Vet.” And you can chat with experts in pet care and services from all fields during the fair.
It’s a carnival not only for dogs and cats — a variety of exotic pets such as raccoons, ferrets, fish, lizards, hedgehogs, rabbits and alpacas will also be on display.
