Terrorist plays cat-and-mouse game
SHANGHAI Drama Arts Center will present “Cat’s Paw,” a drama detailing how an unusual terrorist toys with a female reporter.
Written by American William Mastrosimone, the Chinese version will be staged until June 22 at D6 Space in the arts center.
Terrorist Victor plays a cat-and-mouse game with the reporter, leading to a shocking and violent conclusion.
“How far would you go for what you believe in? Where do you fall on the spectrum of the value of human life versus the value of nonhuman animal life?” asks Yang Yi, director of the Chinese adaptation. “There are many issues and questions to consider when people watch this show.”
He Yi, an experienced local theater actor, plays the main role of Victor. He says “Cat’s Paw” has challenged him to be a better actor because the emphasis is on dialogue.
