‘The Wild Goose Lake’ hits theaters nationwide
“The Wild Goose Lake,” a highly anticipated film by award-winning filmmaker Diao Yinan, hit cinemas across China over the weekend.
The film had a special screening at the Shanghai Film Art Center on December 4. Cast and crew members, including director Diao, actor Hu Ge and actress Kwai Lun-mei, attended the screening and interacted with local film enthusiasts.
The movie is a story about the self-redemption of a wanted man. On his adventurous journey, the destinies of ordinary people and the complexities of humanity are unveiled.
It has been five years since Diao’s last film, the crime thriller “Black Coal, Thin Ice,” won the top Golden Bear prize for Best Film at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival.
Chinese actor Liao Fan, who plays the lead role, also received the Silver Bear for Best Actor.
