THE fashion world's love for studs and rivets can't seem to be satisfied since the return of the classic biker look over recent years. These tiny embellishments are so versatile that they can be applied to literally anything - clothes and accessories alike - to add a bit of rocker edge to any look.
Check out local high-street fashion chains such as Zara and H&M and you will find all kinds of new arrivals decorated with studs and rivets. Popular choices include studded leggings, vests, clutches and bracelets.
The much-coveted Jimmy Choo for H&M collection, available in select H&M stores worldwide on November 14, features a wide range of accessories from high heels to evening clutches, from gladiator flats to day bags, and from belts to bracelets, all adorned with studded detail to give the capsule collection real power.
They are suggested as enhancements to the collection's clothing items, such as one-shoulder dresses, jumpsuits, leather biker jackets and leggings, as well as fake-fur gilets and sequined cardigans.
Many designer houses, including Roberto Cavalli, Stella McCartney and Thomas Wylde, have also come up with studded accessories.
Miu Miu's latest autumn collection features bags of different sizes, from totes to clutches, adorned by a vast amount of silver and gold stud embellishments.
The leather-studded shoulder bag is the perfect piece of fashion hardware for trendy city girls.
Wear it with an oversized boyfriend shirt and skinny jeans to add a dose of drama. Or, carry the all-black studded clutch with a draped, ladylike dress for bold contrast.
The color black always goes best with studs and rivets. And so does leather.
However, you can also wear studded pieces with feminine clothes - for example, a studded leather biker jacket with a long, floral patterned chiffon gown.
