‘Visions of Our Solar System’ orbits Shanghai

“VISIONS of Our Solar System,” a space photography exhibition, is reaching for the stars at the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum.

Seventy-seven photographs by celebrated American space photographer and writer Michael Benson are on display.

The photos capture landscape images and the stunning beauty of the Solar System. A blend of art and science, the pictures lead visitors on a personal navigation of the universe where they will witness the splendor and mystery of the planets.

Benson is also an artist and filmmaker who explores the intersection of art and science. The exhibition was hailed by visitors when it was staged at the American Museum of Natural History and Natural History Museum in London. It is the first time the exhibition has orbited in China. It will run till February 2. British musician Brian Eno created “Deep Space,” a score for the exhibition.

Shanghai Science and Technology Museum also offers interactive events of “X Planet” and “The Mars Expedition.” Visitors can participate in the design of planet-themed fashion accessories and robotic detector.
