KNOWN as an emcee as well as a successful businesswoman, Yang Lan is regarded as one of the most influential women in China. With dozens of titles and roles, this 41-year-old has had a life rich in pioneering experiences.
She was the first winner of China's "Golden Microphone Prize;" she was the first Asian emcee to show up in America's mainstream media (her documentary was shown on CBS in 1996); and she ranks first among the "Top 50 Most Beautiful Women in China."
Her high media profile hasn't harmed her commercial success -- she is now running China Sun Media Investment and holds stocks in 11 Asian media companies. Her jewelry brand "Lan Fine Jewelry" launched in 2008, which cooperates with singer Celine Dion and became one of the major Chinese original luxury jewelry brands.
TV viewers are familiar with her work from "Zheng Da Zong Yi" on CCTV to her current series "Yang Lan's Interview" on STV where she has interviewed more than 200 big names from various fields, such as Henry Kissinger, Yao Ming, Rupert Murdoch and Jackie Chan.
