Calling families on stage
EXPAT and local families are invited to sing, dance, juggle and generally show off in TV contest "Come On, the Whole Family."
One Chinese family is crazy about Latin dancing, others sing traditional Chinese opera.
It is being aired every Monday to Wednesday at 9pm on Dragon TV.
To apply, see hotline below.
World Expo 2010 in Shanghai is a major theme. There will be Expo quiz. Families will express their hopes for Shanghai Expo and describe how the six-month event may change their daily life.
The Expo opens on May 1, 2010.
"The hilarious contest will be a wide platform for people around the world to express their aspirations for the Expo," says Jin Lei, a producer of the show.
Later this year Dragon TV will launch a global selection of foreign families and celebrity families who plan to attend the Shanghai Expo and want to be on television.
So far several hundred foreign families have submitted talent videos.
Winners can receive free tickets to the Shanghai Expo, one-year car rental and may become Expo goodwill ambassadors.
One Chinese family of contestants are Latin dance enthusiasts. Wu Senpei, 61, his wife Chen Weiping, his son and daughter-in-law make their own colorful costumes.
"Dancing is our favorite leisure activity," Wu says. "In the contest we'll show our family happiness and harmony and show that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things."
The registration hotline for both family shows is 118-114.
