'OK Lady' gives city Cinderellas a chance at fame
ANYONE who ever imagined she was a Cinderella or dreamed of stardom, has a chance at making a dream come true.
The newly launched fashion reality show - "OK Lady" - gives a variety of women a chance to step into the spotlight.
The weekly program airs on Channel Young at 9pm every Sunday evening and is calling for the city's star wannabes to take to the stage.
It will show how ordinary ladies take on a new, charming and fashionable appearance after getting beauty makeovers and tips from celebrity image designers, photographers and hairstylists.
Office workers and expats from 18 to 35 years of age are encouraged to send their resume and photos to oklady2009@126.com. Every month, two OK ladies will be selected for their personality and talents.
As well as attending a one-hour fashion show and having her artistic photographs published in "OK!" magazine, the OK lady also has a rare opportunity to star in a costume drama, walk the red carpet at the annual China Fashion Carnival, and become a contracted model with the local fashion brand Enjoyong.
According to organizers of the televised show, Shanghai is a city with a strong fashion sense. Young ladies in this city are very aware of fashion trends.
The program will probably run throughout the year and aims to offer a platform for ordinary people to showcase their own shining Cinderella potential.
The Shanghai Media Group's News Center is also presenting a weekly in-depth news commentary program which features the famous media critic Cao Jingxing as the host. The "Tale of Two Cities" program focuses on the week's top news issues as well as Hong Kong and Taipei.
Different from other television news commentaries, the half-hour program features face-to-face interviews with people involved in significant media events. Dragon TV airs the program at noon every Saturday.
