Ongoing star-making talent shows

STAR China, producer of “The Voice of China” and “Sing My Song,” now presents “Road to Star,” a reality competition series that selects “the country’s most charming young male idols.”
It is aired on Guangdong Satellite TV at 9:20pm every Friday.
The jury panel includes mainland actress Liu Xiaoqing, writer and film director Guo Jingming and Taiwan singer Elva Hsiao.
The judges say that the selection is based on the singing and dancing talent, and the contestant’s personality and morality are also included in the criteria.
Dragon TV’s second season of “Chinese Idol,” the Chinese version of “American Idol,” has entered its elimination rounds.
Eight contestants have been selected after displaying their talent on stage. The show’s final episode will be presented on December 14.
