Sleeves of fragrance
MEI Xun (964-1041), a famous official in the Song Dynasty (960-1279), lighted incense in two burners every morning before going to work.
He would cover each burner with a sleeve until both sleeves were filled with herbal smoke. He would then fasten the mouth of each sleeve to contain the fragrance.
After he got to his office, he would open his sleeves to fill the air with fragrance.
