Painting love-hate feelings for modern life

Contradictions and love-hate feelings about modern life are the subject of an exhibition by artists from Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, at Loftooo at the M50 artists’ hubs underway through August 27.
The exhibition titled “Rehinking Routine” is about individuals torn between the superficial attractions of modern life and what they perceived to be its fundamental shallowness — as they attempt to pursue what’s “real.”
The artists, working diverse media and genres, are Feng Weijing, Huang Liyan, Huang Jing, Huang Xiaopeng, Huang Yishan, Tang Dayao and Xu Tan. They have exhibited around China and overseas.
