500 trees for the Million Tree Project
MR Frank was the restaurant we were eating at that very night. While waiting for the food to come, I explained to my dad what the Roots and Shoots Million Tree Project was about. My dad was engrossed by the project. He asked loads of questions. Thankfully, I could answer the questions because Mr Flesher had told me all about the Million Tree Project last year when our Girl Scout troop planted a tree for Earth Day.
Hands sweating, legs twitching, I asked my dad if he would buy 500 trees. I asked him because I really felt strongly about the trees and I secretly wanted to go to Inner Mongolia.
I really wanted to help Mr Flesher and the others because they have been working so long and hard for this project. Gazing at him, I hoped he would. He said yes! I was so happy I could help Inner Mongolia. Then my father asked why that many trees. I felt a shiver go down my back. "Because that is how much I love you and more!" I replied just to make something up. But still, it is true I love him that much.
When I am 16 or older, I really want to see the plantation and if possible help out. I think I would always remember that experience. I think I would enjoy seeing "my" trees being enjoyed and cared for. For me to work with the trees/environment is such a delight, I think it is so important to help our world for the next group of people, so they will be able to see the world in good shape.
