Favorite things that make me fiercely proud about YCIS Century Park

I’ve been here in Shanghai for almost four years, every day of it at YCIS’s Century Park campus. When I first came, I entered the school in Year 8 and, today, I’m in Year 11, boldly facing (I hope) my looming IGCSE exams. My time in Shanghai and at YCIS is quite long, compared to many other international students. Adapting to suddenly living in a country and culture as foreign as China obviously took some time, but I’ve been through all of it, and now I’m fiercely proud to call YCIS my school.

Personally, I’ve got a pretty endless list of favourite things about my school, I could go on for forever! I’ll start with the fact that our school is a tight-knit, friendly community, and I don’t think there are many other schools like it. This is a place where you (literally) know every other student personally, and just about every teacher! I’d describe the school and its people then to any newcomer as being like a warm, fuzzy blanket: it’s incredibly welcoming, and you’ll get comfortable with it very quickly.

I love our school community, the students, the teachers, the memories. Yew Chung is home, and however far I may be from it in the future, I am certain I’ll never forget it.
